Chamaedorea Elegans, commonly known as the parlor palm, is a popular species of small palm native to the rainforests of Southern Mexico and Guatemala. It is widely grown as a houseplant due to its elegant, feather-like fronds and its ability to thrive in low-light indoor conditions.

  • Habitat: Can grow up to 2m tall.
  • Light: Bright, indirect light; tolerant of lower light levels well.
  • Water: Prefers moderately moist, but not wet soil. Wait until the top few centimeters of soil is dry before watering.
  • Fertiliser: a foliage specific fertiliser during growth periods.
