Philodendron hederaceum, commonly known as the Heartleaf Philodendron, is a classic climbing aroid recognised for its glossy, heart-shaped leaves and graceful vining habit. Slender stems produce aerial roots at each node, allowing the plant to coir poles or other supports, while also creating long cascading vines when left to trail. New leaves emerge from protective cataphylls before unfurling into smooth, rich green foliage, with mature plants producing increasingly larger leaves as they climb.

  • Habitat: Higher humidity levels encourages larger leaf growth but can tolerate dry conditions.
  • Light: Prefers bright indirect light but can grow in low light conditions.Water: Water twice a week during summer and once a week during winter.
  • Soil: Potting mix
  • Fertiliser: Will benefit from the application of a balanced plant fertiliser during peak growth periods.
