Philodendron 'Imperial Green' is a self-heading cultivar admired for its large, glossy emerald green leaves and strong, upright growth habit. Rather than producing long climbing vines, it forms a dense rosette of foliage, with new leaves emerging from the centre enclosed in protective cataphylls before unfurling to full size. As the plant matures, older basal leaves naturally shed to reveal a sturdy central stem, while successive leaves become broader and more dramatic, giving the plant an increasingly architectural appearance.
Habitat: Moderate to fast grower. Will reach between 90-120cm in height.
Light: Bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some shade.
Water: Keep soil moist by watering in small volumes, when the top layer of soil is dry.
Soil: Use a peat/bark based soil.
Fertiliser: Will benefit from the application of a balanced plant fertiliser during peak growth periods.
