Peperomia 'Emerald' is a compact evergreen variety recognised for its thick, elongated leaves with smooth surfaces and subtle red edging along the margins. The fleshy foliage is characteristic of the Peperomia obtusifolia group, allowing the plant to store water within its leaves and giving it a semi-succulent structure. Growing to around 30 cm in height, it develops a dense, upright form with leaves arranged along sturdy stems, creating a naturally rounded silhouette as it matures.
Habitat: For a bushier plant, pinch tips through spring and summer months to encourage additional shoots to form. Prefers to be kept in warmer temperatures and away from draughts.
Light: Bright, indirect light.
Water: Water from dry only. Leaf loss is a sign of over-watering.
Soil: Use a peat-based soil. This plant has a small root base, therefore select a shallow pot to accommodate. Doing so will reduce the chance of water-logging the plant.
Fertiliser: Will benefit from the application of a balanced plant fertiliser during peak growth periods.
