Nephrolepis Macho Fern 12cm Pot Plant

Nephrolepis biserrata, commonly known as the Macho Fern, is one of the largest cultivated sword ferns, recognised for its bold, arching fronds and vigorous growth. Each frond is composed of numerous finely divided leaflets, creating a lush, layered canopy with a distinctly tropical appearance. As the plant matures, it forms an impressive clump that can spread to around 1.8 metres, making it considerably larger than most other Nephrolepis varieties. Like all true ferns, new fronds emerge as tightly coiled fiddleheads before gradually unfurling into their full size.

Habitat: Can grow to 1 metre tall, 1.8 metre wide. Does well in a warm, humid environment.
Light: Likes dappled light or partial shade, do not expose to direct sunlight.
Water: Keep the soil moist, but do not over-water. Ensure plenty of drainage, do not allow to dry out completely.
Soil: Will be happy in a bark/peat-based soil mixed with an orchid mix through it to help create a free-draining medium.
Fertiliser: Ferns do not require too much additional fertiliser, other than diluted amounts during growth periods. Too much fertiliser can damage your plant.
