Kalanchoe is a flowering succulent, recognised for its fleshy, glossy leaves and dense clusters of long-lasting blooms held above the foliage. Native to Madagascar, many species have adapted to store water in their leaves, allowing them to withstand extended dry periods. Flowering in shades of red, orange, yellow, pink, and white, Kalanchoe provides vibrant colour over many weeks, with each cluster made up of dozens of small, four-petalled flowers.

Habitat: Enjoys household temperatures between 15 - 24°C. Avoid placing in drafty areas or near heating.
Light: Place in a bright, sunny spot. South or west-facing window is ideal.
Water: Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
Fertiliser: Will benefit from the application of a balanced plant fertiliser during peak growth periods.
Pruning: Remove spent flowers and any leggy growth to encourage new blooms.
