Begonia Polka Dot, is one of the most recognisable species in the Begonia genus. Its elongated, wing-shaped leaves are adorned with distinctive silver spots across a deep green surface, while the undersides display rich burgundy-red tones that create striking contrast. Held on upright, cane-like stems, the foliage develops in layers as new leaves unfurl, giving the plant its elegant, architectural form. Under favourable conditions, clusters of delicate white to pale pink flowers may also appear, suspended beneath the foliage.
Habitat: Thrives in warmer household temperatures, avoid draughts or sudden temperature changes.
Light: Bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some shade.
Water: Water when soil is visibly dry, saturate the soil until some water runs out of the bottom of the pot, ensure plenty of drainage opportunity for excess water.
Soil: Use peat-based soil.
Toxic: Yes, should not be consumed by animals or humans.
Fertiliser: Will benefit from the application of a balanced plant fertiliser during peak growth periods.
